Cardamom is the live auction
Small cardamom at Puttady and Bodinayakanur is an e-auction with arrived kg, sold kg, weighted average and max, published by Spices Board India. That is the dataset SpiceValue refreshes, charts and archives. Live prices and Auctions exist because that print is public and quantity-backed.
Nothing below is a clone of that feed.
Pepper and clove: Cochin snapshots, not Idukki auctions
The live board may show Cochin cards for pepper (garbled / ungarbled) and clove, plus nutmeg and mace, sourced from Spices Board current-market / newspaper or IPSTA-style quotes. They carry a date and often a grade. They do not carry an Idukki lot book.
Pepper price today in the wild is usually a dealer mention, a mandi print, or a Board summary. Bulk density and garbled versus ungarbled move the rupee as much as the weekday. SpiceValue will not invent a Kochi auction clock we do not have. If a Cochin card is on Live prices, treat it as a dated snapshot: check the stamp, the grade and the source line.
Clove price today is a thinner Indian market. A number without quantity is a rumour with a rupee sign. The Cochin clove card, when present, is the same class of evidence as pepper — not an e-auction result.
Turmeric and cumin: not on this board
Turmeric price today belongs to centres such as Erode and Nizamabad, with finger/bulb mix and a bulk-commodity rhythm. SpiceValue does not store a turmeric auction or mandi feed. A cardamom rally is not a turmeric signal.
Cumin price today is largely a Gujarat / Unjha story. It has no overlap with Idukki–Theni small-cardamom e-auctions. There is no cumin ticker here. Do not use SpiceValue as a cumin terminal.
If you trade those crops, use their own sources: date, grade, arrivals. Do not paste a Puttady average into an Unjha or Erode decision.
